(Several months ago now) Making Star Wars reported that Frank Oz – the voice and puppeteer for Yoda – was on the set of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII which was filming at Pinewood Studios – at the time.

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Oz did voice over work, but he wasn’t (actually) needed on set. Yoda was featured in Rey’s powerful vision when she picked up Luke’s lightsaber, fans assumed we’d be seeing Yoda in the follow-up movie.
